I would be remiss if I didn’t give credit to all those students who I have had the pleasure to share sewing and quilting with. I soon found out I needed a lot more pieces and still more and still more. I ended up cutting at least 6-8 times as many pieces as I started with. <br />The focal point that looks like it might be an eye is really a flower center. This is all done with commercial printed fabrics. The background is Gutcheon polished cotton. I stockpiled quite a bit of this fabric and I am so happy to have it since it hasn't been available for years. The quilt is heavily machine quilted.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi01vHl5RhKJu49dpKS5lW_hJHgdxDybUUdAVnPWxS_1h-9UrXzoJ0Lb4fsvZsXtyzOy7dE1DW2OJDoqmJrFzX8Vydk0q0JPUIVqRFqqhNR6orca7Vrli9UTbeo2rkeZdQiiJ-2YUCZkzU/s1600-h/Spider+mum+closeup.jpg" style="color: #888888; text-decoration: none;"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5314675126756675362" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi01vHl5RhKJu49dpKS5lW_hJHgdxDybUUdAVnPWxS_1h-9UrXzoJ0Lb4fsvZsXtyzOy7dE1DW2OJDoqmJrFzX8Vydk0q0JPUIVqRFqqhNR6orca7Vrli9UTbeo2rkeZdQiiJ-2YUCZkzU/s400/Spider+mum+closeup.jpg" style="-webkit-box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1) 1px 1px 5px; background-color: white; border: 1px solid rgb(238, 238, 238); box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1) 1px 1px 5px; cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 400px; margin: 0px auto 10px; padding: 5px; position: relative; text-align: center; width: 298px;" /></a><br />If you click to enlarge this photo you can see the quilting better.<br /><br /><br /><br /></div>Kay Koeper Sorensenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03179892338042007284noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7141771224189769395.post-66912612841248907662022-03-14T19:28:00.000-05:002022-03-14T19:28:37.645-05:00I Don’t Think Most Of You Knew About All The Races I Ran<p> </p><h3 class="post-title entry-title" itemprop="name" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; caret-color: rgb(34, 34, 34); color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 22px; font-stretch: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0.75em 0px 0px; position: relative;"><a href="http://quiltspluscolor.blogspot.com/2009/01/beach-run-and-stitch-and-share.html" style="color: #888888; text-decoration: none;">Beach Run and Stitch and Share</a></h3><div class="post-header" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; caret-color: rgb(34, 34, 34); color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; line-height: 1.6; margin: 0px 0px 1.5em;"><div class="post-header-line-1"></div></div><div class="post-body entry-content" id="post-body-2951013066448182365" itemprop="description articleBody" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; caret-color: rgb(34, 34, 34); color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.4; position: relative; width: 570px;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr7Cnp1DjwPWGXqhPztRIo_VOUTkKcvqxwJIeE3lOGqlmrqfbylGDI29IYQcYrCrTg-nBIGimHxwgoQZeGnrt8g220_uvlzlcxMwJ9SU2zBoWnBBb1xRUwZVY3kb9kaat86MqPUTuFYV8/s1600-h/hiltonheadbeachrunwildermepamjwells.jpg" style="color: #888888; text-decoration: none;"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297267930766544146" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr7Cnp1DjwPWGXqhPztRIo_VOUTkKcvqxwJIeE3lOGqlmrqfbylGDI29IYQcYrCrTg-nBIGimHxwgoQZeGnrt8g220_uvlzlcxMwJ9SU2zBoWnBBb1xRUwZVY3kb9kaat86MqPUTuFYV8/s400/hiltonheadbeachrunwildermepamjwells.jpg" style="-webkit-box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1) 1px 1px 5px; background-color: white; border: 1px solid rgb(238, 238, 238); box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1) 1px 1px 5px; cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 271px; margin: 0px auto 10px; padding: 5px; position: relative; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /></a><br />No matter what the weather during the week during the seminar on Friday at 4:30 the rain would stop, the sun would shine and hundreds of seminar participants were on the beach for a one mile run. I think I started it at least 20 years ago.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">I enjoyed finishing it. At 26 x 33 inches it is one of the largest of the quilts that used up leftover small pieces of batting. It is also an Olympic quilt that didn't make the deadline.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">It is my 10th quilt finish for 2022.</span></p><p><br /></p>Kay Koeper Sorensenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03179892338042007284noreply@blogger.com1
