What Do You Do With Your Cotton Scraps That Can't Be Used For a 2 x 4 inch Piece

In 1963 you figure out a lot of other ways to piece a 4 inch square block.

And what to you do for the reverse side of the quilt?

You create patchwork for the reverse side of the quilt as you still have scraps left.
And what do you do it batting is not available in 1963?
You find a factory that makes bedspreads and buy their scraps.
And what if you have no idea how to make a quilt?
You make tubes of fabric and stuff each tube with some of their batting scraps.
This created a large quilt that was very large, heavy and warm.
It was created in the fall of 1963.
These are the very first photos of this quilt.
