i am so jealous!!! i would love to take a class from jan. i started hand dyeing over 25 years ago due to a chapter in a book she did...i now call it buckets from hell...you only got a half yard from each bucket and so much salt. one dye party we managed to kill quite a large area of lawn in front yard, dh was not a happy camper with us. he built me a portable sink and position in drive way and stated this was where we should rinse from now on. good work.
They are indeed spectacular. Both days.... Love the colors and the pattern which is different but the same - is it the way the fabric is wrapped on the pole that make the pattern? guess you can tell I have never done any dying.... still love the fabric in the quilt shops.... It would be hard to cut into - thus making something better.....
Kay - thank you so much for posting your pictures. It's great to be able to see what folks are doing in different classes, and the eye candy is awesome.
So many of us can trace our step into fabric dyeing to a class with the amazing Jan. Mine was a two week class at Haystack where the world opened up to me. Your fabric here is exciting, iconic and beautiful.
