Serendipitous Pouch For Olfa Cutter!

When I posted this and asked why it had such an unusual shape this was NOT the answer as I was creating it.
I had created a bargello rectangle and from it I cut the back of a vest. This was the small amount of patchwork that was left at the top. It had this unusual shape created by the cutting line for the shoulders and neckline.
I decided to just use as much of the leftover scrap as I could to make an irregular pouch.
When I shared it and asked if anyone knew why I made this unusual shape several people thought it was for my Olfa cutter. Once I thought about it, I decided it was the perfect shape to carry it and that is why you see the above photo.

We Interrupt This Quilt’s Story To Bring You Glorious Quilting

This is some of the most gorgeous machine quilting I have ever seen. It is free motion quilted on a domestic machine. This is the front of the bag. I did not make this.

This is the back of the bag, every bit as beautiful as the front. This arrived in my mail today from an artist in South Africa I commissioned to make this for me. I could not be happier than I am with it. The bag is made from denim. I am guessing from jeans that are still in great shape from the look of the pockets. It has a zipper closing at the top, faux leather handles and a pocket inside. The size will be perfect as I can put a lot in it but it won’t be heavy.

Glitzy Bags

It has been quite some time since I have sewn anything other than quilts.

Tonight after I finished sewing the facings on a quilt I decided to make these two glitzy bags.

I use them for so many things. Love the color of these two!
