“Yellow Quilt”–Broken Star

image

This is another one of my “soon to be finished” quilts. I would guess I started it over 15 years ago.

It was the first time I had used yellow in a quilt – since yellow was probably my least favorite color.

The inspiration and the starting point was the 8 yellow floral printed squares I cut from a decorator fabric.

I loved this quilt and realized what yellow could do.

From that point on I have used some variation of yellow in a majority of my quilts.

This is only the center section. I have the pieced borders completed and they will come next.

After that I will add a solid border.

Then will come the quilting and the binding and I can add it to my FINISHED list!

I thought you might enjoy a puzzle of this quilt.

Absolutely bee-you-tee-full!! I love this style quilt. Lone stars and broken stars are some of my all time favourite quilt patterns. I love the way you use the focus print in the setting sections of your star.

I agree with Janet Jo, traditional and gorgeous. It will look even better when it is quilted, because quilting makes the quilt!

Beautiful!!! it took me 10 years to finish my first star quilt. Panic I thought the puzzle thing was how you were going to quilt it.

Art and craft are so intertwined that sometimes it's hard to say it's one or the other. I say it's both. Contemporary is a good word for your beautiful quilt.

Wow, the light blue seems to make the star glow. What a monumental job to piece this quilt--awesome!

This is so gorgeous! What a stunner it will be when it's completely done (not that it isn't already, hehe).

Traditional quilt but it still has that light from within quality. Thanks for the puzzle.
