Quilts + Color
I love numbers and love to watch my blog views from all of you out there.
There are so many ways and services to count the number of viewers for a blog.
One of the services I have used is Ice Rocket which had announced that it was shutting down permanently September 1, 2012. It seems to still be working though, although it does not give as much information as it used to.
Each service seems to have it’s own way of counting visits and page view of a blog.
I have Neocounter on my blog. The numbers it shows are far less than what it shows if I check Blogger.
I don’t use Sitemeter which is a favorite of many bloggers. I just couldn’t figure out how to get it on my blog way back when.
If I check my Blogger statistics I can see I have had 279,216 page views in the time I have been blogging.
What does this all mean and what does it show a blogger?
To me it just shows a LOT of people read my blog and the readership is constantly increasing.
It also shows when I don’t blog for an extended period of time the readership goes way down, but still remains higher than when I first started blogging.
I know people are continually searching for something and end up on my blog as a result of their search.
It has also been interesting to see that I have had visitors to my blog from 168 countries. I couldn’t even name that many countries!

LOL! I thought I was the only one that liked numbers and was interested in my blog stats. What I've come to the conclusion is that I don't believe any of them are 100% right - but at least I can tell what people like to read. Also I can tell how my readership grows when I start blogging on a consistent basis (go figure LOL!) Like OTWF's stats the first week were really high - this week - with the holiday not so much - so I'm interested in seeing what the third week will be. Hmmm maybe I should have gone into statistics! LOL!
Hi Kay,
I look at your blog everyday. You have such interesting quilts and lots of new ideas.
I am going to a retreat the end of September and I am planning on making a "Potato Chip Quilt". How do you control the seams on the 4 " inserted pieces when you fold and start sewing the long strips together. I would think that they would have to be pressed first but your tutorial doesn't indicate this,
Thanks for your help and for the pleasure received in reading your blog.
Thank you for asking. I have added that to the tutorial.
Yes, you press the seams to one side before you sew the strip together. I press them all ot the same side.
Where are you Kay?? No post in a week! Hope all is well!!!
Thx for your post, I really enjoy your blog. Long time lurker, first time commenter, you know the drill. I tried to share this one time before, I don’t think it posted correctly…hopefully it will this time!
