Blood Moons Finale
I have taken the last stitches on Blood Moons.
I am pleased with both the design, the quilting and the finishing of it.
Like so many of my pieces this was started a year or more ago. It’s a great feeling to finish another piece.
If you are wondering about the name, it is a reference to the total eclipse of the moon on April 4, 2015. This was called a blood moon.
For those of you who like to see the actual quilting I am including these two close ups of the corners.
Now that this is finished I am planning on finishing several more in the next month.
This was my 7th finish for 2015. How many can I finish? How many more will I start?
Your guess is probably as good as mine.

This is absolutely gorgeous. Love the name too.
success, for sure...the resulting piece is wonderful. And, the title, just right!

Kay, your quilt looks great both from a design and technique standpoint. I imagine the quilt police could find something to complain about to make them feel like they're doing their job, but I love your attitude and getting it finished, sharing it with us, and being pleased with your efforts, and moving on to the next piece. That's such a healthy way to enjoy what we do!
Unique. And, it looks really good.
Congrats on a job well done! It's striking and beautiful! ~Melanie
