Stitching A BIG Spiral

image
You are only seeing a portion of this quilt which I am currently quilting.
I started at the center and am stitching a single spiral to fill the surface of this 40 something inch quilt.
I do love stitching circles and spirals. Quilting one this size is a challenge.
I should finish the quilting very soon.

I quilted a crib quilt in a spiral once. How do you keep it flat? Mine was kind of wonky and definitely not flat! I love the design though and would like to try it again. I'd be glad of any tips. Thanks, Gretchen villacrestfarm@gmail.com

good to see how you quilt one of your beautiful mandala ice art cloths! What size is it and what machine are you hand guiding to do this? sonja asked

I just finished a spiral quilt this week! Your quilting is so so so much neater than mine. I can tell on even the small portion you showed us! I'd love to know what foot you are using to do this, and as another commenter asked, any tips on keeping it flat? That fabric looks really cool too, did you dye it yourself? :) Hannah

Had to pop over today from Let's Bee Social to see your spiral quilting! I just got a new sewing machine that has a walking foot that works so well, and spiral quilting is now on my to-do list! I love the needle-down feature that will be so helpful with this type of quilting. Thanks for sharing!
