Dinner At The Oldest Stage Stop In Wisconsin

1848 Photo

Last night I had a great dinner with special friends at the Stage Stop in Wilmot, Wisconsin.
It is one of my favorites. I have never had a bad meal there.

This is what it looks like today.

I started with this salad. They serve 3 dressings with the salads and they are all homemade and so delicious. Of course I can't pick a favorite so I have all three!

I had the two lobster tails for dinner. You can see the quarter pound of butter on my potato and the second quarter pound of butter melted for my lobster.
Remember, this is Wisconsin, the dairy state and we LOVE, LOVE, Love our butter!

You can see how content we all look after our delicious dinners.

Fifty years ago (yikes!) I use to ski at Wilmot Mountain......

Looks better than in old times -- and probably tastes better. To be able to afford a lobster tail in those times, you probably had to be a travelling Senate candidate.

Mimi,
Did you ever go there? I used to watch Ski Jumping at Wilmot a little over 50 years ago.

Eva, I'll bet there was no way to even get lobster this far inland that long ago!

Thanks for the link. Too bad you can't go back in time for an hour and experience the place way back when...Your food made me hungry now.
