I was thinking about this quilt and wanted to know if it would be as effective if it was red and white. I still am mesmerized by the Red And White quilts in the New York exhibit recently.
It would be next to impossible to duplicate the exact quilt.
No - wait - it could be very easy.
So I proceeded to change the colors on the computer.
Here is the exact same quilt in red and white.
Which one do YOU prefer?
I won't tell you my answer until you tell me yours!

So cool that you can change the color with your computer. I like them both, tough call for a favorite.
I like the b/w one better.
Okay, you got me......THE RED!!
Six of one and half dozen of the other...... I too have become fixated on red and white quilts.... and will be making one in August.... and then hopefully be content.
I liked your black and white ALOT so was so so on the red and white. Thing is it does grow on one as time passes.
One thing for sure! Mrs Rose will not have this pattern and may be interested in "accquiring" yours to add to her 651.
I like the red and white best ....today.
Sorry, but I have never really been a fan of red. I prefer the black and white.
Kaye, I love the Red and White one. Of course the Black and White is beautiful as well. Maybe because the 4th is coming soon!
I like the black and white - but if we could have any color I would make it jewel purple and white (grin)! Just want to say that I just started an abstract series using crosses and yours are an inspiration. My first abstract so its freakin' me out a bit!
It's just my take on it, but on this particular quilt, the black & white has more impact. I like red & white combos, too, don't get me wrong. And also purple & white, blue & white and ... well ... you get the idea. :-)
I agree with Donna, above. For this quilt, the red doesn't speak out enough, while the black is a great huge baritone!! What if there were more red & less white? (I love red! As Freddy (Moran) says, it's a neutral color!!)
