Good Vibrations

When I start to work with polymer clay I get out the tools I need, blocks of clay and my selection of premade canes. Today my main focus was making bowls.

You saw this bowl before I baked it. This is the finished bowl.

This bowl uses a variety of types of canes, some of them done with transparent clay.

I am finding these bowls very difficult to photograph. With practice I hope to get better. I love spirals and have used them for this one.

I used a totally different technique to make this bowl. I started with a flat piece of white clay. Next I added a paper thin layer of colored flower canes. The last step was to add the white outline flowers in transparent clay. These had to be cut almost as thin as tissue paper to allow the underlayer to show.

Love the stuff! And I know -- I made such things. Not as great as yours!

Have you ever made a coffee mug?

I am going to make one for a good friend when I find out exactly what the friend wants.
However it will just be a pretend coffee mug as you can't put food in polymer clay!
