to: Quilts: Another Dimension
Two quilts in my Colors Of My Life series that you will see in the show.
This is the official announcement and invitation and I hope I'll see you at the opening on January 25th.

The Anderson Arts Center is a very large building and has many galleries showing different exhibitions at the same time. The gift shop is unique. Everything in the gift shop is hand made. The gift shop is changed for each show. The gift shop will be featuring quilts and some other quilt related items for this show, many of them made by me. In addition to the quilts in the gift shop many of the quilts in the show are for sale.
I have been busy getting labels on the back of quilts, hanging rods ready, listing and pricing the items I'm bringing for the show and all those other little details that are part of the knitty gritty of getting ready for a show. I will be delivering my work to the Art Center this Monday.
This is not a clear photo - purposely! I add a photo of the quilt on the cloth label. The photo's are clear enough to identify the quilt, but not so clear that you can really see the quilt in detail. Believe me, the quilts look 1000 times better than these label photos!
I always use beautiful fabric on the back of my quilts. To me using beautiful fabric is like wearing pretty underwear. When you wear pretty underwear you feel good about yourself. When you use a beautiful fabric on the back of the quilt you feel good about the quilt and you do your best work. (It also hides imperfections in your stitching!!!!!)

I too add photos of my quilts on a label.....are yours fused?
There's an interesting practice in the arty quilt community in the Asheville, NC area......no dates on labels! I've been told buyers don't like to know they are purchasing 10 year old quilts! Hummmmm, that so against what has been drilled into our heads....sign and date all our work!
Hi Kay - I wish I was going to be in Wisconsin to see your show. I'm sure it will be a great success. Just enjoy every minute of it - it is so fun to listen to people say good things about your work! I hope you will share photos from the show.
I will gradually post photos after the show opens.
They may be photos of the opening or photos of the quilts or anything else I can think of associated with my show and the other solor shows that are part of Quilts: Another Dimension.

I don't fuse my labels to the quilts - I hand stitch each one on.
It takes time but because of the way I make the labels it works better.

Hi Kay,
I'm glad you posted about the opening reception because I couldn't find any mention of it on the Anderson Art Center website when I went to look for show information.
