Who knows what this is?

Does anyone know what this is supposed to be?

This is why I need it! We are getting a lot of snow and it isn't going to stop soon.
When it stops they are forecasting temperatures in the single digits and below zero.

I needed a hat that will be warm and cover my ears. When I saw this on Margaret Hunt's blog http://scquiltaddict.blogspot.com/ I thought it would be fun and I already had the yarn.
With the directions she furnished in her tutorial and a little extra help I was able to knit this in a reasonable amount of time. I just used my own judgement for shaping the top and spacing of the fringey's. (She calls them dreadlocks but mine look more like fringeys!)
It does the job covering my ears and keeping my head warm. It also is perfect for a bad hair day.
I haven't done any knitting for quite a while and this was one of those projects that was so much fun I couldn't put it down until it was done.

If I told you we have so much ice and snow on Lake Michigan the Lighthouses are all laying on their side would you believe me?
If I told you that to fit this quilt that will also be in the gift shop into a puzzle format I had to rotate it would you believe that? There are also some small individual framed lighthouses that will be in the gift shop.

Well, I knew what that hat was a hat because I had just read about Margaret Hunt's on her blog before clicking to yours. The cyber world is a small one, isn't it? Those funky hats makes me want to get out my knitting needles and do something other than couch my yarns to quilts.

"Who's that rastafari showeling snow in front of our house?" -- "But that's Mom with her new hat..."

I love your sense of humor Eva.
But you won't catch me shoveling the snow. I don't own a shovel.
That's someone else's job.
My job is shopping!!!

I wish I could knit like that - all I know how to do is with two needles and to do a plain scarf. I don't need a hat in Arkansas and I hate wearing them - but I would love some fingerless mittens! My hands are always cold in the winter. I keep thinking to take a class and never get around to it.
